The person behind the camera

Hi, I'm Alexa.

I photograph outdoor weddings and engagements across Colorado — the same mountains, meadows, and golden light that make up the rest of my life too.

How my story connects with yours

I grew up in Colorado, and some of my earliest memories are of tagging along with my grandfather, a Colorado landscape photographer, to see the beauty of this state through his lens. I didn't know it then, but those trips were teaching me how to see, and how a single frame can hold the feeling of a place. Growing up surrounded by these mountains is what made it possible to turn my passion into my career.

Today I get to do what I love with the support of my husband, Nicholas, who never fails to ask how a couple reacted to the album I sent them. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find us out in nature with our dog, Cleo. Knowing that one shot can become a memory someone treasures for a lifetime is what keeps me inspired, and keeps me getting outside.

That's why photographing couples who value the little moments is one of my biggest joys: the quiet glances at your new partner, the joyful tears of the loved ones watching you. I don't want to just show up and pose you under the tree you've watched grow. I want every look at your photos to bring you right back to how that moment felt, and to the love between the two of you, for the rest of your lives.

It's the little moments, the ones that happen in between, that become the memories you'll hold onto forever.

How I shoot

Whether it's a backyard garden wedding with all your friends or a ceremony that takes some elevation gain to reach with just your family, I'm there for all of it. The setting can change, but my goal never does: to fit in so naturally that you forget I'm even there.

You'll never feel like you're being followed by paparazzi. I'll offer a little gentle direction when it helps, then step back and let your day unfold on its own: the belly laughs, the happy tears, the hug that lasts a few seconds longer than planned. That way, your photos won't feel staged. They'll feel like you.

Let's plan your day
